As part of encouraging and empowering girl child education Honorable Roseby Gadama, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Women’s Caucus and member of Parliament for Zomba-Thondwe Constituency, has congratulated Mirriam Kachala with a sum of Mk100,000.00 as a token of appreciation for making the people of Zomba happy and putting them on the Map. Mirriam Kachala emerged the best student in Malawi for the 2022 PLSCE, with a score of 448/500.
Hon. Roseby Gadama said, the amount is to be used as upkeep for Mirriam as she prepares for secondary school. She further encouraged other girls to follow her lead because education is essential to battling poverty in our societies. Hon Gadama has made this contribution through the honorable member of Parliament for Zomba Central Hon. Bester Awali.
