9 Members of the Parliamentary Women’s Caucus become Cabinet Ministers

Following the 2020 Fresh Presidential Elections, and appointment of His Excellency President Lazarus Chakwera on 28th June 2020, a new cabinet was chosen. Per his commitments during key Tonse Alliance Campaign rallies, His Excellency President Lazarus Chakwera, reaffirmed that he would ensure 40% female representation in his Cabinet. Out of the newly appointed members of Cabinet, 9 are members of the Parliamentary Women’s Caucus.

  3. Hon. Jean Sendeza – Deputy Minster of Defence
  4. Hon.Agnes Nkoma – Deputy Minister of Agriculture
  5. Hon. Nancy Chaola  – Deputy Minister of Transportation and Public Works
  6. Hon. Chrissie Kanyasho – Deputy Minister of Health
  7. Hon. Madalitso Kambauwa – Deputy Minister of Education
  8. Hon. Halima Daud – Deputy Minister of Local Government
  9. Hon. Abida Mia – Deputy Minister of Lands
